The curve is the point
A convex feather flag bows outward along the leading edge instead of running straight. It is a softer silhouette, and it catches the eye slightly differently — the curve keeps a readable shape even when the flag is hanging still on a windless morning, which is when a tall narrow flag is at its least visible.
It is the shape people choose for hospitality, retail, wellness, salons, food and anything consumer-facing. The angled flag tends to go to auto, trade, fitness and corporate.
Four heights

Two choices matter most on this shape. The curved edge draws the eye to the top of the flag, so keep the brand name high and short. And convex flags usually stand outside shops, cafes and salons where people walk past in both directions, so double sided earns its cost here more often than it does against a wall.

Questions we get asked
Slightly, at the very edge. Keep type and logos away from the curved leading edge and the tail, and design for the flat middle of the flag. Send us the artwork and we will show you where it lands before we print.
It flexes, which is what it is meant to do — a flag that does not move does not get noticed. In sustained high wind, bring it in. If your site is genuinely exposed, a teardrop flag holds its outline better because the fabric is tensioned back to the pole.
Yes. A row of flags in a coordinated set reads far better than one on its own, and ordering them together means the colors match exactly across the set.
