Frequently Asked Questions
Large format prints your plans at full architectural scale (ARCH C–E), so every dimension and detail is true to size. Small format (letter or tabloid) shrinks the same drawing down for easy handling, filing, or field use — not for taking measurements off the page.
Full plan sets for permits, bids, or job-site reference are almost always ARCH D (24"x36") or ARCH E (36"x48"). Smaller detail sheets often work at ARCH C (18"x24") or ARCH E1 (30"x42"). If you just need a copy to mark up or hand out, 11"x17" is the standard "reduced set" size.

Printed wide-format at our North Dallas shop. 18" x 24" is the smallest of the standard architectural sizes, and it is the one people reach for when the drawing does not need a table to read it.

36" x 48" Blueprints
36" x 48" Blueprint Printing. ARCH E. The large sheet — site plans, large floor plates and presentation drawings. Printed wide-format in North Dallas. 36" x 48" is four times the area of an 18" x 24" sheet and twice a standard plan sheet.
